WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

Be the technical owner who makes our Tech Co-Founder redundant in the day-to-day.
Success looks like this: the Tech Co-Founder wants to stay involved—not because they have to, but because they enjoy it.

You’ll be a big fish in a small pond: your judgment will shape how we design, build, deploy, and scale. Your opinions will matter, and you’ll see the impact of your decisions quickly. We love AI and you do too—from day-to-day AI coding tools to building applied AI into the product.

What You'll Do:

• Own architecture & delivery: evolve our platform, keep it fast and reliable, and ensure smooth, frequent releases.
• Stay hands-on: design services, write clear, maintainable code, review PRs, and crack the hard problems.
• Raise the bar: mentor engineers, remove single points of failure, and embed pragmatic engineering habits.
• Ship AI that matters: turn practical AI ideas into features customers actually use.
• Set direction with product & founders: sequence the right work, move at pace, and keep quality where it counts.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT?

• Experience as a professional software engineering, with 3+ years in PHP 8 / Symfony building production systems.
• Experience in technical leadership/ownership role (e.g. leading a small squad, owning a service/area, mentoring engineers).
• Cloud & k8s in production: hands-on experience deploying and operating services on public cloud, Kubernetes and Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Data & queues: strong with MySQL/Cloud SQL schema design and performance tuning; production use of Redis and RabbitMQ (or an equivalent broker).
• Operational excellence: you’ve owned uptime and performance, built CI/CD and observability (logs, metrics, tracing), set up automated testing, and are confident in diagnosing and resolving live production issues across app, infra, and data layers.
• Security & compliance aware: pragmatic approach to protecting customer data (PII/GDPR) in a financial SaaS context.
• Applied AI: you actively use AI coding tools (e.g. Copilot/Cursor/CodeRabbit) and have shipped applied-AI features or integrations in production.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

TECHNOLOGY STACK

• Symfony, PHP 8, Redis, Cloud SQL (MySQL), RabbitMQ, Kubernetes (k8s), Bitbucket Pipelines, Google Cloud Build (GCP).

Technological expertise

• We love our code clean. 🧽 We review each other's code on a regular basis (unit/integration testing, OOD principles and so much more).
• We constantly perfect our technological competence through events such as my developers days and cross-platform code reviews and so will You!
• You’ll be working with the field’s top-notch specialists and one of them will become your “coach”. 💪 Also here in Visma we have an international network of specialists within the organisation to build Your rep and skills even stronger.
• We have internal knowledge sharing sessions where we learn the newest trends in programming languages, QA, security, etc. 💻
• We also have our own library and anyone can order new books, as well as use online licences to various learning sites, get certifications, etc. 📖
• Shaping the future with AI 🤖 - GitHub Copilot, Cursor, CodeRabbit, Gemini, etc. - we use these tools daily.

Financial expectations

• Gross salary 5000-6300 EUR. 💸 Keep in mind that we are open to discuss your salary based on your competence and experience.
